This Cookie Policy explains how the AUI website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. The website is operated by Augmented Intelligence (AUI) Inc. (“AUI,” “we,” “us”).
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. In this policy, “cookies” means all of them.
What we use
Essential, always on:
- Your cookie choice. We save your cookie settings in your browser’s local storage, under the name
aui-cookie-consent, so we don’t ask you again on every visit. - Security. Our hosting and security providers may set short-lived cookies that protect the website from abuse.
Analytics, only with your consent:
- Google Analytics. If you allow analytics, we load Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC. It sets the cookies
_gaand_ga_4QYML9SCJP, which last up to two years, and tells us how visitors use the website, such as which pages they view and how they arrived. Google processes this data on our behalf and may process it outside your country. Google Analytics does not store your IP address. Learn more in how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Outside the United States, Google Analytics does not load at all until you allow analytics. Closing the banner without a choice keeps it off.
In the United States, Google Analytics runs by default and you can opt out at any time. Closing the banner keeps it on. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and analytics stays off unless you turn it on.
Whenever you turn analytics off, we stop it and delete its cookies. We work out which rules apply from the country your connection comes from; if it cannot be determined, the stricter rules apply.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
Embedded videos
Some pages include videos from YouTube or Vimeo. These videos load only after you press Play. From then on, the video provider may set its own cookies, as described in its own privacy policy.
Cookie categories
- Essential: needed for the website to work. Always on.
- Analytics: Google Analytics. Outside the United States, off unless you allow it; in the United States, on unless you opt out.
If we start using any other kind of cookie, it will stay off until you allow it, and we will ask for your choice again.
Your choices
On your first visit, a cookie banner explains how we use cookies. Outside the United States, you can choose “Accept All” or “Reject” (only essential cookies), or open “Manage preferences” to choose each category and “Save choices.” In the United States, you can choose “Accept All” or open “Manage preferences” to opt out. You can change your choice at any time with the “Change cookie settings” button on this page. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
